Christine J. Ruhl

Status: PhD Graduate Student

Biography:

I have lived in 6 states, including Nevada, but grew up mostly in

Florida and Massachusetts. I earned my B.S. in Geology at Radford

University in southwest Virginia in 2008. I went directly into the

graduate program at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in

Socorro, NM, earning my M.S. in Geophysics (Solid Earth) in 2010. I

worked as a homeschool assistant, summer camp special events

coordinator, and geology visiting lecturer at Bridgewater State

University in Bridgewater, MA until starting the Ph.D. program at UNR

in July 2012.

I love teaching and working with undergraduate-level students and

intend to stay in academia after completing my Ph.D. My research is on

earthquake seismology and tectonics of the Walker Lane of western NV

and eastern CA.
