Earthquake epicenters (black symbols) for the Reno-Carson City Urban Corridor from the Seismological Laboratory's Earthquake Catalog covering the years 1982-1993 as well as the location of the M 6 September 1994 Double Spring Flat earthquake (red circle) and significant local mapped faults (red). The red square is the location of the east Carson Valley fault zone. Black symbol are scaled to earthquake magnitude. The largest black symbols represent M 4 earthquakes whereas the smallest symbols represents event of M < 2. The base map is a color (scaled to elevation) shaded relief image of the USGS 30 meter digital topography. Tick marks (gray +'s) are at 10 km intervals.
