Daily 24 hour helicorder records of Mogul-Somersett Area Earthquakes

24 hour time series in helicorder display format of earthquakes near Mogul-Somersett. Stations PEA, and VPK in the Mogul area are shown. PEA and VPK are UNR permanent stations.

Each horizontal line is one-hour's worth of data and there are 24 hours represented in each plot. The hour of the day in GMT is listed on the left of the plot. The 10 minute "sausages" during some times of day are trains passing near Mogul in west Reno. The spiked vertical lines are earthquakes. The larger spikes are the larger magnitude events that are often felt in the Mogul-Somersett area. Most of the earthquakes are not felt by local residents.

One can gauge the daily rate of activity in the Mogul-Somersett area by reviewing the 24 hour helicorder plots of these stations.
