Paleoseismology Postdoctoral Research Position at Active Fault Research Center X-Lines: 51 Status: RO Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format="flowed" Content-Length: 1879 The Active Fault Research Center, Geological Survey of Japan, now a part of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, is looking for a post-doctoral researcher in the field of paleoseismology, particularly study of tsunami deposits and/or liquefaction The successful candidate should lead a field project in Japan, preferably along Nankai trough, and also expected to join our fieldwork in Chile. We are looking for a scientist with a recent PhD, background in sedimentology and/or Quaternary research, and extensive field experience. The applicant should be fluent in either Japanese or English. The position starts April 2003 (or mutually agreed date within a few months) and lasts for two years. The annual salary is approximately 4.4 million Japanese Yen.
