Here are a few more details about the open position: Provide technical seismic and acoustic research support to the Treaty Monitoring Directorate (TT) at the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). Coordinate US National Data Center (US NDC) efforts to incorporate a geophysical database in the context of a geographic information system. Interface with National Laboratories of the Department of Energy in constructing a Knowledge Base for the US NDC. Provide assistance to AFTAC in its regional monitoring efforts. Perform special analysis of seismic events occurring in established areas, as well as providing short-term research as applied to specific event analysis issues. Provide support to international and US government treaty monitoring organizations and assist in developing US policy in support of international treaties. Skill Requirements sought: • Ph.D. in seismology or geophysics with 10 years experience. An additional 8 years related experience with a related Masters Degree may be substituted for the Ph.D. • UNIX and Oracle experience preferred. Matlab, Fortran, and C experience desired. • current national security cleance is preferred.
