The Volcano Seismology group is looking to nominate a candidate interested in computationally-intensive seismic wave field studies. Details of the 3-year fellowships can be found via the link below. The volcano seismology group will nominate a candidate with interests in modeling seismic waveforms in heterogeneous environments, large-scale waveform cross-correlation, or similar fields. Numerous opportunities exist to apply these methods to data from the Alaska Volcano Observatory seismic networks. Nomination deadline is Feb. 15, 2005. Interested candidates should contact Greg Newby (newby@arsc.edu) for fellowship information or Michael West (west@gi.alaska.edu) for specific opportunities in seismology.
