This is a grant funded position through CERI as a Tennessee Center of Excellence with salary supported 100% by grants. The position is for 12 months and is available starting April 1, 2006. Reappointment is dependent on continued grant funding. We seek a colleague with expertise in all aspects of GPS Geodesy as applied to crustal deformation, the earthquake process, and application of the results to seismic hazard analysis. Applicants must have a Ph.D. at the time of employment and show a demonstrated record of research productivity or strong promise in research. Applicant must have experience in GPS field work in the Central US and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, High Precision GPS data processing, elastic and viscoelastic modeling of GPS data and publication of previous work. Applicant must be capable of performing and leading GPS fieldwork in the Central US and remote areas of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands for 3-4 months a year. Knowledge of Hindi is beneficial. The successful candidate is expected to build a strong, externally funded research program.
