Responsibilities include maintaining a pool of 25 REFTEX/STS2 portable seismic systems, conducting field deployments and servicing for PASSCAL-style experiments, and leading post-acquisition data processing. The ability to function independently and resourcefully in field situations, including remote areas overseas, is essential. Candidates should have at least a B.S. degree in geophysics or equivalent. Applicants should demonstrate a level of technical expertise sufficient to troubleshoot problems and handle equipment repairs in the field. A strong background in UNIX-based computer systems is highly desirable. There are opportunities for research in collaboration with scientific staff and postdoctoral fellows. Applicants should submit a curriculum vita along with names and addresses of three references. A personal statement detailing general interests or special capabilities that may be relevant to the position would be welcomed.
