They will support the analysis and evaluation of waveform data from various geophysical phenomenologies (primarily seismic, hydroacoustic, and infrasound) recorded at local, regional, and global distances. The successful candidate will provide critical analysis and evaluation of events of special interest occurring in selected areas of the world. The successful candidate may help design and conduct experiments to evaluate the operational performance of new stations, processing algorithms, etc., and may participate in special geophysical research projects. Position Requirements: a B.S. Degree in earth or physical science, or equivalent (e.g., 5+ years experience). An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in earth or physical sciences is desired. Experience in analysis of seismic, hydroacoustic, and/or infrasonic waveform data is essential. Experience using UNIX operating systems (e.g., SUN/Solaris) is required. The successful candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills and must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
