Recent Earthquakes along the CA-NV Border
Image of topographic features and location of 4 Magnitude 4.5+ earthquakes that have occurred along the California-Nevada border near Topaz Lake since December 22, 1995. Also labeled is the location of the September 1994, M 6.0 Double Spring Flat (DSF) earthquake and some local physiographic features. At the present time these recent earthquakes are considered to be aftershocks of the 1994 DSF event. They represent a southward expansion of the DSF aftershock zone.
