Proposed Bylaw Change on Graduate Faculty Appointment

Judith Sugar, in cooperation with the
Forum for the Future
strategic planning committee, has developed the proposed change to the
bylaws of the graduate faculty that appears below.

Essentially it puts complete responsibility for appointments to
the Graduate Faculty at the academic department or program level.
Please send your comments on this proposal to Sugar or to Louie
before the end of February. If approved by the Graduate Council,
the proposal would also require endorsement by 2/3 of the
present Graduate Faculty.
