However, I've 2 comments: (1) Unifying and coordinating functions is excellent, and something I've advocated, so long as it does not dilute the quality of material presented to the students (e.g., by lowering standards in order for 2 curricula to be combined) and requires the hiring of ***NO*** additional administrators. Otherwise, you get the typical exponential bureaucratic growth coupled with quality reduction. (2) Multi-cultural and ethnic qualifications, programs, and the like should be deleted. Emphasis should be placed on QUALITY, both of the program and the student. Introducing a multiplicity of objectives (such as trying to cure the world's social ills concurrently with maintaining academic excellence) inevitably degrades output through lowering of standards, dissipation of effort, and the introduction of a (n even more) politicized system. Hope this wasn't a waste of your time. Joe Leising
