offers an online information directory containing a complete
list of NBMG publications along with prices and ordering information,
articles from the quarterly newsletter Nevada Geology,
a list of services available at NBMG, a summary of NBMG research
activities, indexes of U.S. Geological Survey digital line graphs and
digital elevation models, and information on agencies using or
producing digital data in Nevada. NBMG geologists are available to

Nevada.
The
Department of Geological Sciences at
``http://www.seismo.unr.edu/geology''
consists of 23 full-time teaching and research faculty, and 20
cooperating faculty from the Desert Research Institute, Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology and the
U. S. Geological Survey. Several faculty have joint appointments with the Seismological Laboratory.
Cooperative teaching, equipment sharing and research programs also exist with the Department of
Geoscience, UNLV and with the Desert Research Institute.
Our location provides students with many world-class localities for field
studies, ranging from glaciated high country to high desert environments.
The
Center for Neotectonic Studies at
``http://www.seismo.unr.edu/neotectonics''
is a research unit that provides graduate students and
post-doctoral level researchers the opportunity to conduct research
in neotectonics and closely related disciplines.
The MSM Mapping, Modeling,
and Visualization Lab at ``http://mmv.mines.unr.edu'' is designed
to be a state of the art
facility supporting scientific visualization and related projects of the
faculty, staff and graduate students of the School of Mines. For a listing
of currently installed hardware in LMR 286 and software under evaluation,

The
Hydrologic Sciences Program at ``http://www.hydro.unr.edu''
offers information on admission to the program, participating faculty,
current research of the faculty and students, the Hydrologic Sciences
colloquium series, and current activities and events.
The
Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering Department at ``http://www.seismo.unr.edu/cmet''
offers information on admission to the program, participating faculty,
current research of the faculty and students, and course schedules for
both chemical and metallurgical engineering programs.
The
Geological Society of Nevada,
at ``http://www.seismo.unr.edu/GSN''
is a non-profit,
educational organization whose principal objective is to
promote the advancement of geological sciences,
especially as they relate to Nevada.
GSN supports the
dissemination of information through meetings, field
trips, publications and academic endeavors. Membership
is open to professional geologists, students, prospectors
or anyone else with an interest in the geological sciences
and/or the goals of the GSN.
The
student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers,
at ``http://www.seismo.unr.edu/aiche/cover.html'', is
the primary national professional organization for chemical engineers.

Building on the Quad of the UNR Campus and consolidated the collections
of the former Mines and Engineering Libraries. It is considered one
of the finest academic mining collections in the country.
The
The Consortium for Economic Migration and Tomography
at ``http://www.seismo.unr.edu/cemat''
is a partnership between William Lettis & Associates and the Seismological
Laboratory at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Applying advanced methods in migration and tomography, CEMAT creates research products that
will enhance members' ability to cost-effectively generate and develop economic mineral and energy
prospects, or to evaluate and mitigate potential seismic hazards.
