Explanation of Completeness Maps.
The
maps that follow show information about what magnitudes of earthquakes are
recorded by the Guerrero accelerograph network.
There is a separate map for each tenth unit of magnitude, from 2.3 to
8.1. Each map shows a blue dot for all
events of this magnitude that are entered in the NEIC catalog, as of December,
2004, within a radius of 500 km of a point near the center of the Guerrero
network. The blue circle is replaced by
a larger green dot if the earthquake was recorded on the Guerrero network.
Triangles
show Guerrero accelerograph station locations.
These
figures were prepared by Joe Toth and John Anderson at UNR, January-March,
2005.
