M 2.7 Earthquake Near Boulder City, Nevada
A magnitude 2.7 earthquake was felt today at 11:02 PM, PDT (September 17, 2003). It was located at 35.94 N, 114.70 W, with a preliminary depth of 3.6 km (2 miles). This location is approximately 15 km (9 miles) southeast of Boulder City, Nevada. There have been two felt reports received at the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at this time. Earthquakes with magnitudes as small as M 2 have been reported as felt in the Boulder City area in the past.
