Below is a brief synopsis of my life.
I was born December 28 (Dia de Los Inocentes), 1963 in Torrance, California (near L.A.).
After watching the Moon landing on TV, I moved with my parents to Redding, California in 1969.
I spent the rest of my years there and graduated from High School in 1982. I played football (wide receiver) and ran track (hurdles). My senior year I qualified for the state track meet in the 110 HH where I finished 3rd to last in my heat. One guy crashed and the other I guess was slow. I was actually leading into the first hurdle, but made an error, (I got airborn) got out of step and could not recover.
After High School I spent time deciding what I wanted to do with myself (something you should
do before you get out of High School) and finally graduated from Brigham Young University in
1990 with degrees in Spanish Translation and Engineering Geology. I then entered the masters
degree program there and graduated in 1993 with a specialty in geophysics. I am now currently
enrolled in the doctorate degree program at the University of Nevada at Reno where I am
working on a thesis in paleoclimate. I am looking at varved sediment cores and using signal
processing techniques to determine relationships. If you don't understand what I just said, you
should read more or take a geology course.
