Presenter Information for SSA2005

Letter to presenters from program co-chair | Tips for Mac PowerPoint users

Posters:

Poster area is 8 x 4 feet, but figure on a 2-inch metal rim taking up some of that space all around.  Requests (up to 6) for electrical hookups in the poster area will be honored if you have an associated electronic file to present and don’t care to rely on battery power.  Contact David von Seggern (email: vonseg@seismo.unr.edu) if you wish this hookup.

Note that posters for Wednesday can actually be put up starting about 5 PM on Tuesday.  They will be in an area adjacent to the Icebreaker so that people can begin to look at them.

Oral Talks

Presenters are highly encouraged to bring electronic files on CD for use with PowerPoint on a Windows XP machine (provided).  Presenters with alternate computers for presentations must assume the responsibility for hookup of their machine to the projector and for failures beyond our control in those cases.  Also realize that time is inevitably lost in these switchovers.  A speakers “ready-room” is provided to test your electronic file on a system similar to that which will be provided in the session rooms.  The “ready-room” will be available at 7 AM.  Only computer projectors and overhead (transparency) projectors are provided in speaking rooms.  If you must use slides, please contact David von Seggern (email: vonseg@seismo.unr.edu).
