Honjas, BillStatus: Adjunct Research AssociateBill Honjas Geophysicist Ph: (775) 391-7222 Honjas.bill@gmail.com Bill Honjas founded several Nevada technology startups and holds a M.Sc. in Geophysics from the University of Nevada, Reno. His experience includes Strategic Vision, Sales, Technology and Marketing Integration, Commercial Applications Development and Analysis, Technical Presentation and Client Relations. Mr. Honjas' career responsibilities have increased from being Project and Logistics Manager for the NRDC USA-USSR Nuclear Test Ban Verification Project during 1988 to being Director of Network Operations, Global Seismic Monitoring, at Scripps Institute in 1994. Mr. Honjas then accepted an offer to become Geophysical Division Director and Sr. Project Geophysicist for William Lettis & Associates (WLA), a prominent Bay Area geo-sciences consulting firm. During July of 1998 Mr. Honjas formed Optim with Dr. Satish Pullammanappallil. Mr. Honjas first procured private capital to seed the company and then successfully petitioned to have Optim placed into the Technology Incubator at the University of Nevada. Three months later, Optim launched its first commercial software product, SeisOptŪ @2D. Other commercial products and services were released soon thereafter. For 22 years Optim maintained research and technology agreements with the University of Nevada, Reno, and donated over $1.5 million. Optim is inscribed on a stone in the Honor Court.
