Graduate Students

Rosas, Vivian

Status: Graduate Student

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas where I attended UTEP, I had an internship with SCEC (Southern California Earthquake Center) and was introduced to the field of geophysics. After receiving my bachelor's in geology, I began my Ph.D. program at UT Austin working with induced seismicity for a year. I'm now continuing my Ph.D. at UNR working with Dr. Daniel Trugman looking at surface deformation due to seismic activity using remote sensing, geodetic, and waveform processing techniques.

I'm also passionate in the effort of bettering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of geophysics, geology, and engineering. Participating in efforts behind DEI issues in the university and local community is very important to me and plays a big part in my career goals.
