Chatterjee, Avigyan

Status: Graduate Student

My research focuses on the development and application of innovative methodologies to scrutinize substantial datasets of seismic waveforms with the aim of improving our comprehension of earthquake rupture mechanisms and their relationship with seismic hazards. In order to advance data science research, my interest lies in integrating sophisticated physical models with concepts from the domains of big data and scientific machine learning. Additionally, my research endeavors to enhance the field of ground-motion seismology, which involves the measurement and analysis of ground motion during seismic events. Furthermore, my research strives to augment earthquake early warning systems by utilizing cutting-edge data analysis techniques to furnish more precise and timely notifications of imminent earthquakes. Overall, my research seeks to contribute to a deeper insight into earthquakes and their impact on society by integrating concepts from various areas of earthquake research.
