Senior Seismologist, Specialist ($5622-6784) - Division of Engineering, Geotechnical and Structures Branch, Project Geology Section, West Sacramento (Final Filing Date: 03/23/09). Prepares design ground motions for dams and other structures. Organizes diverse and complex data into clearly and concisely written reports. Calculates ground motions using Next Generation Attenuation (NGA) relationships, selects and scales earthquake time histories, and performs deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard assessments (DSHAs and PSHAs). Evaluates faulting and seismicity, directs contractors in the field, and performs research. Prepares geologic maps, profiles, cross sections, structure maps, charts, and graphs. Desirable Qualifications: Computer skills including knowledge of EZFRISK, Outlook, Word, Excel, MicroStation, gINT, and GIS are a plus.
