Please see the following link for more information: http://jobview.usajobs.gov/GetJob.aspx?JobID=83091116 The National Science Foundation is seeking qualified candidates for joint Program Director positions in the Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) and the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO), Arlington, VA. The two Directorates support interdisciplinary research to advance the state of knowledge about Earth, including its atmosphere, continents and coasts, oceans, ecosystems, and the processes that change as well as link them together. They also support activities designed to improve the education and human resource base for these research areas. The Program Director in the area of Integrated Global System Science will manage research and education activities in their own area of geosciences, bioscience or environmental expertise. In addition, they will promote interdisciplinary research that explores the complexity and variability of interacting biological, geological, and social systems, their multi-scale dynamics and vulnerability to environmental change. Depending on their disciplinary expertise, the Program Director will be assigned to a Division in either BIO or GEO and also be a member of a team of program officers from BIO and GEO who are developing and implementing novel Integrated Global System Science activities.
