A Mendenhall Postdoc Opportunity from the U.S. Geological Survey, Earthquake Hazards Team Title: Dynamic Rupture, Ground Motion and High-Speed Fault Strength We wish to draw your attention to a Postdoctoral opportunity that is currently being offered by the USGS Earthquake Hazards Team. Recently graduated or soon-to-be graduating PhD students are encouraged to develop a focused research program that fits broadly within the topic of the physics of dynamic earthquake rupture. Candidates with backgrounds in areas such as seismology, earthquake engineering, computer modeling, applied mathematics or laboratory rock mechanics would be most appropriate. The application deadline is November 9, 2009. Candidates must have completed their PhD between November 9, 2004 and the starting date (October 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011).
