Numerical Techniques for Wave-Propagation Physics,
Using Object-Oriented Java Programs
This class combines the latest software technologies with
industry-standard numerical solution methods.
Learn wave-equation solutions as practiced in the oil industry:
Fourier Transforms, Finite Differences, Tomography, Signal Analysis,
Array Phasing, and Optimization.
You will implement these solutions within a Java data-analysis
environment. Take all the source code with you, and develop your own
application as a term project.
Programming experience is helpful but not required. Get a tutorial
intro to OOP, designed for scientists and engineers!
Prerequisite are graduate standing and experience with ODEs, complex
analysis, and linear algebra.
