Seismic Building Code Map of The US
This map gives national seismic zonation according to the 1997 edition
of the Uniform Building Code, which is published by the International
Conference of Building Officials (Whittier, California). Code
publishing organizations in the United States recently formed a
nonprofit organization (
International Code Council, Falls Church,
Virginia) dedicated to developing a single national code. Under this
effort, the International Building Code 2000 will use the
seismic hazard
maps prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey.
