3 April 1995 9:00 AM PDT

               An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred at 5:58 PDT  Monday,
          April  3,  in central Nevada.  This event was located at 39.498N,
          116.410W at a depth of  approximately  18  km  (11  mi),  between
          Eureka  and Austin. The Seismological Laboratory has not received
          any felt reports on this earthquake at this time.

22 April 1995 2:00 PM PST

               An aftershock of the September 12, 1994 Double Springs  Flat
          earthquake, with local Richter magnitude 4.2, occurred at 7:31 AM
          PST on Saturday, April 22, at 38.795N, 119.654W  at  a  depth  of
          approximately  1 mi.  A smaller earthquake preceded this event by
          5 seconds.  The location is within approximately 1  mile  of  the
          main  shock  on September 12, 1994.  The Seismological Laboratory
          continues to record several aftershocks per week from this earth-
          quake  sequence,  but  this aftershock is one of the larger ones.
          Aftershocks of this size are not unexpected for a main shock  the
          size of the September 12, 1994 event.
