A magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred at 9:17 am on Friday.
April 24, 1998. The event was located at 38.468 degrees north
and 118.411 degrees west approximately 15 miles ESE of Hawthorne
in the Garfield Hills. The Seismological Laboratory has received
felt reports from Hawthorne, Mina, Fallon, Carson City, and Reno.
