18 November 1994 3:00 PM PST

          An earthquake with local Richter magnitude 4.0  occurred  at
	  12:51 PST on Friday, November 18, at 39.172N, 119.691W at a
	  depth of approximately 8 mi.  This location is approximately
	  4  miles east of downtown Carson City,  Nevada.  An
	  aftershock of magnitude 2.7 was recorded at 1:12 PST, but
	  none  larger  than  this  have occurred.   There have been no
	  reports of injuries or structural damage. The event was felt
	  within at least a 30-mile radius.
