REMINDER on Departmental and University academic standards:

NEW GEOLOGY DEPT. POLICY AS OF SPRING SEMESTER, 1996: ALL undergraduate majors (Geology, Geophysics, Geological Engineering, and Hydrogeology) must receive a C grade or better in required GEOL and GE courses in order for the credits to count toward degree requirements. As a departmental policy, this applies to courses taken during Spring semester, 1996, and all ensuing semesters.

In addition, the 1994-96 UNR General Catalog relates on p. 36, under undergraduate academic standards, class conduct: ``Students may be dropped from class at any time for negligence or misconduct, upon recommendation of the instructor and with approval of the college dean. Students may also be dropped for non-attendance upon indication of the instructor.''

Under probation (university) the catalog (p. 36) says: ...if a student's cumulative GPA is below 2.0...``a school of college may place a student on probation whenever satisfactory progress toward degree objectives is not maintained.''...``The credit load of a student on probation is determined in consultation with the assigned faculty adviser and, when necessary, the dean of the appropriate school of college.''
